Julian Porter, K.C. was a barrister for fifty years. His first memorable years were at Fasken’s with John Sopinka and the legendary Walter Williston. He created his own law firm with partners and Julian practised in a variety of civil and criminal cases. He has given numerous lectures on cross-examination and libel. He is co-author of Canadian Libel Practice. He had been Chairman of the Toronto Transit Commission, President of the CNE and on the Boards of the Cancer Research Foundation and the Stratford Festival.

He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and the recipient of honorary LL.D.s from both Queen’s University and The Law Society of Upper Canada.

Julian is married to Anna Porter.
